Welcome To Our District

Dayton public schools are the heart of Dayton, Oregon.  Dayton School District is located in western Oregon’s Mid-Willamette Valley, between McMinnville and Newberg, and serves approximately 1,000 students in a grade school, junior high, and high school.  The school district draws people into the community who want a strong educational system with a rural sense of caring and teamwork.

2018-19 Calendar Considerations

I recently shared two proposed calendars with the School Board and the Dayton School District Staff.  Those two are linked on this page.  The first part of our board policy states that:

"The Board will approve the school year calendar for the following year no later than at its April meeting following due consideration of the recommendation of the superintendent and the input from staff, parents and the community."

The board will plan on discussing the input and will approve a final calendar option at our next board meeting, March 13th. We want your feedback to help guide that discussion.

These calendars were shared at our February 13th school board meeting and our staff was also asked for feedback using the survey linked below.  Please click on that link to respond to a short survey so we can gather your thoughts.  I will compile all of the information from the survey and present it to the board with a recommendation as a starting point for discussion.  Finally, please let us know if you have questions.  You can call the district office at 503-864-2215 or email me at Jason.Hay@Dayton.k12.or.us

Thank you for your time and support,

Jason

Strategic Planning

We want to know your vision for the future of Dayton School District.
Please join us at one of our Strategic Planning Sessions! We will be
asking three primary questions:

1. With what are we on target? What’s going so well we should continue?

2. What should we reconsider or stop doing?

3. What new things should we consider or start doing?

Please click
HERE attached pictures with details- these are pics of
a postcard that will be in your mailboxes really soon.

Thanks, Jason Hay, Superintendent
