The Dayton School Board is pleased to announce and welcome Dr. Brian Recht as the new interim superintendent during the 2019-20 school year.

Dr. Recht has a strong track record for turning schools around and improving educational organizations. For 2016 to 2018, as the superintendent of Pinnacle Charter Schools, he provided oversight in raising student achievement levels as well as improving their struggling fiscal systems. Prior to working with these Colorado charter schools, Dr. Recht served as the Superintendent of Schools for the Albany County School District in Laramie, Wyoming, a K-12 unified school district of 15 schools with 4,000 students. He spent 12 years with the Albany school district improving community/school relationships that culminated in the passage of a much-needed bond. In 2012 Dr. Recht was a finalist for the Wyoming Superintendent of the Year award. Dr. Recht also has experience with small school districts as he spent some time as a superintendent/principal of a small K-8 school district in central California with 750 students.
