Superintendent

Jason Hay joined the Dayton School District as Superintendent in July 2017.  He’s been an educator since April 1997 beginning as an Elementary School Teacher in Chanhassen, Minnesota.  Mr. Hay moved to Albany, Oregon starting as a Substitute Teacher in January of 2000 before serving four years as an Elementary Teacher beginning in the 2000-2001 school year.  Mr. Hay subsequently served as a Middle School Assistant Principal (3 years), Elementary and then Middle School Principal (7 years), and Curriculum Director (3 years).

Jason Hay was born and raised in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He enjoyed school but engaged mostly in Art and Industrial Technology Courses.  He has always been an athlete playing soccer, basketball, swimming and water skiing, running track and cross country, riding mountain bikes, and cross country and downhill skiing among other things.  Mr. Hay is married to Dr. Kristin Ziebart, Linfield Chemistry Professor, and has two daughters, Bella and Madeline, ages 13 and 11 respectively.  Together they all enjoy reading, watching movies, camping, and participating in outdoor sports.  Mr. Hay and Dr. Ziebart both spend time running, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, downhill skiing, riding motorcycle, camping, and watching Bella and Madeline dance and sing.

Jason received his Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Minnesota Duluth and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Oregon.
